A Look Back at 2018 and a Great Way to Start 2019

2018 was a fantastic year for all of us at The Greenlaw Report. After years of talking about it, we finally launched www.articles.thegreenlawreport.com, a website devoted to providing you with the latest research from the health and wellness world. Our primary objective is to cover everything from nutrition and supplements to exercise, stress management, the most recent cutting-edge research and everything in between. If we discover something that will help maximize your quality of life potential, chances are that you will answer at The Greenlaw Report! For those of you who don’t know about us, we want to make it clear that we are not the experts in any of these fields. We consider ourselves the experts on the experts and do our best to provide only the facts, not opinions and let you make your decisions based on what is presented here. While 2018 saw the launch of The Greenlaw Report, there are no signs of slowing down in 2019! We plan to continue expanding our content by utilizing the research and studies from a number of world-class medical doctors, oncologists, molecular biologists, nutraceutical chemists, researchers, nutritionists and personal trainers to name a few. If there is something out there that improves either mental or physical health, we are searching for it, so you don’t have to.

We recognize that none of this would even be possible if it weren’t for each and every one of you that has taken the time to see what we have been posting. For this, we wanted to let you know how thankful and humbled we are to know that you have put your faith in our vision. As we continue to grow, it will be because of the people that believed in our mission from day one. If we can provide content that can potentially change just one life for the better, we feel this is important enough to continue moving forward. With all that being said; as a thank you and an introduction to 2019, we decided to present an article that offers two major components. First, this is something we feel you can add to your health arsenal immediately and second, the research behind why this is such a useful tool.

The World’s Greatest Nutritional Shake and How to Find It

Yes, this is one of the longer blogs you will find on our site, but there is a good reason for that. In order for you to understand why we feel this is the world’s greatest shake, it’s critical to educate you on both what this shake needs from a nutritional standpoint and why. In our opinion, the best way to do this is by only sharing the key ingredients and explaining the importance behind each one. This formula was designed by consulting a host of nutritional experts over time, collecting their research and ultimately formulating a nutritionally dense fuel, designed to provide your body with everything it needs to run at peak performance. There is an excellent chance that if you choose to add this super shake to your diet, you will notice a difference almost immediately! At a minimum, if you are thinking about introducing a supplemental shake into your routine, this should help you sort the good from the bad.

As we started our assessment of various supplement shakes in 2018, we quickly picked up on a pattern when reading the reviews. Most reviews included brief testimonials touting crazy results and rapid physical changes, rarely seen outside of Hollywood. There was no surprise when going through the anecdotal evidence, but the concerning pattern we discovered was the overall lack of fact-based, scientific evaluations of these products. Information regarding how and why each formulation was chosen was almost impossible to find. If you are what you eat, then it should be essential to inform the public as to why each formulation includes specific ingredients. After reading one review after another, it became clear that the need to identify each ingredient and the importance of it should be the most important information regarding any health product.

Based on our research along with the conclusions from the team of professionals we have the pleasure of working with is that when in doubt, it’s best to trust Mother Nature. In nature, herbivores, plant-eating omnivores, and carnivores all nurse their young. The reason for this is that only milk contains elements called, “neuroprotective molecules” that help create the immune system in humans and animals. With all due respect to our vegan readers, unfortunately, vegetables do not contain these neuroprotective molecules. Only mother’s breast milk contains these molecules. These neuroprotective molecules are a critical component in forming a strong immune system in newborns.

During the birthing process, when the baby passes through the mother’s birthing canal, it receives a coating of microbes. The microbes are absorbed through the skin, eyes, nose and mouth and establish the foundation for a healthy immune system. That little immune system is then enhanced and developed by colostrum, which is produced along with breast milk from the mother. Mother’s breast milk consists of 60% whey protein and 40% milk proteins. It also contains the neuroprotective molecules that are critical to our survival. Studies conducted by a number of agencies, including The National Institute of Health have concluded that babies that were not breastfed have a much higher incidence of allergies, autism and behavioral problems later in life.

Note: In no way are we discounting the fact that people suffer from lactose intolerance. Some research states that a major factor in those who experience lactose intolerance is due to the process of homogenizing and pasteurizing milk. This production process seems to be one of the primary reasons for causing allergic reactions in people. Also, there are some delicious dairy-free shakes on the market, but they do not contain the neuroprotective molecules found in whey protein, which is derived from milk.

There is no arguing that a raw source of undenatured, (non-pasteurized) whey protein should be at the top of your list when hunting for a good shake. This type of milk has almost the exact same properties as mother’s breast milk; with 60% whey protein and 40% milk protein content. This is the first step in finding the world’s greatest shake. Make sure your shake contains 100% raw, undenatured whey protein. It is equally important to make sure that the shake has not been mixed with soy and there is no type of soy filler being used. Ideally, the whey should come from grass-fed cows, free of growth hormone and antibiotics.

Prebiotic Fiber

Second, only to an elite whey protein, your shake should contain a minimum of eight grams of prebiotic fiber per serving. Prebiotic fiber helps the body to manufacture good gut flora and a healthy gut is a key to maximizing. Most people are familiar with probiotics, which are beneficial to gut health as well. The only problem with probiotics is they need to be continuously supplemented. Prebiotics can reproduce, which allows the body to produce massive amounts of these prebiotics without having to constantly replenish them externally. Don’t forget that eight grams is the magic number. When label shopping, you will find that most shakes contain just two or three grams of prebiotic fiber but simply bumping that number up to eight grams facilitates easier absorption of minerals and nutrients in the body.

In addition to the benefits already listed, prebiotic fiber also aids in inhibiting insulin spikes. This is the same reason that it is superior to eat whole fruit rather than just juicing. The natural fiber and fruit the body receives from eating an entire apple, orange or grapefruit prevents the unregulated release of sugar, thus helping prevent insulin spikes. Don’t be fooled by shakes that say they are low in sugar. This should actually be a warning sign that the shake is most likely to be very low in fiber and the fiber used is most likely a probiotic fiber.

Ionic Minerals

If your shake doesn’t contain a minimum of 60-70 ionic minerals, don’t even bother taking it. There are two main types of minerals we find in our food and there is a big difference between the two. These two minerals are ionic minerals and chelated minerals and the primary differentiation is a chelated mineral must travel to the cell on the back of an amino acid. The problem with this is most of us are already woefully short on amino acids, so chelated minerals are less likely to have an impact on our health. On the other hand, an ionic mineral does not need a carrying agent like amino acids. A number of studies continue to prove that organically produced food contains an average of 14 to 20 of the 70 minerals the body needs to maximize its quality-of-life potential. Minerals are considered the sparkplugs of life, and they are the cofactors for all the enzymes’ reactions in the body. Enzymes detoxify us. They are antioxidants that also perform so many other critically important functions in the body. The lack of minerals therefore significantly hampers the maximum potential of the human body.

 Enzymes

According to the experts, the most significant addition to the world’s best shake formula must include particular enzymes. Lipase is one of the most important enzymes to look for on food labels. Lipase is derived from the Greek word, “lipos”, which means fat. Lipase helps break down fat into smaller molecules, making them easier to digest so they can pass out the body with ease. The breakdown of fat also prevents it from coating food particles, thus inhibiting the breakdown of proteins and carbohydrates (like in the shakes).

People with lipase deficiencies could be more prone to high triglycerides and high cholesterol. That is because lipase helps to digest fat and fat-soluble vitamins. It should be obvious that a shake without lipase is not going to be as good for the body because it is unable to extract waste components, preventing us from maximizing our quality of life potential. In addition to lipase, the lactase enzyme can play an important role in whey protein shakes. Research backs the fact that lactase should be added to minimize or even counteract the effects of those with lactose intolerance.

Proteases and Why They Must Be Included

The most important enzymes are proteases. The reason they are so important is proteases are specifically needed to assist the body in breaking down proteins into tiny particles called peptides. This leads to easier absorption of amino acids into our cells. The trick is to find a carefully selected whey protein from the best sources located around the world. If the whey protein you find also includes proteases, then amino acids will also be utilized by the body at much higher percentages. Protease dramatically increases the bioavailability of amino acids. These are the pieces that really matter in protein molecules. What this means is that with the addition of proteases, the body will have a much easier time using all the necessary building blocks of life with very little waste from inefficient absorption.

One of the most important things to understand is that what really matters is not what we eat or drink, but what we absorb. A good analogy is someone with pulmonary issues who has difficulty breathing. This person might get the same amount of oxygen as the rest of us, but the lung tissue has a hard time actually absorbing the oxygen in the air. The same thing can happen with the food we eat. If we lack sufficient proteases, we don’t absorb high percentages of the amino acids that we need. Sadly, all those good amino acids just pass through our bodies unused. Here is a list of proteases that are essential when creating your shake:

Protease from, (Aspergillus Oryzae)

Amylase from, (Bacillus Subtilis)

Bromelain from, (Ananas Comosus)

Papain from, (Carica Papaya)

Acid Stable, (a protease from Aspergillus Niger)

Finding a shake with a minimum of 24 and up to 36 grams of raw undenatured whey protein is highly suggested. Most shakes on the market only contain 10 to 15 grams of protein, which just isn’t enough to have a positive effect on our physical health.

In Summary: The Greenlaw Report is providing you with what to really look for in considering the world’s greatest shake, according to our experts. There is no compromise in their opinion. If you want to create and consume the world’s greatest shake, it must contain all of the above, with no exceptions.
